Here we are at race week! Temperatures for this weekend are forecast in the upper seventies in the day and mid-fifties at night. I have gone over most everything in previous updates (which are also archived on our website homepage), so I will keep this one short with a simple reminder of this weekend's schedule. From central Phoenix, take Loop 202 east to Beeline Highway (SR 87). Continue northeast on SR 87 to Shea Blvd. Travel west on Shea Blvd. to Saguaro Blvd.; turn north. Continue through Town of Fountain Hills to Fountain Hills Blvd; turn right and travel four miles to the McDowell Mountain Regional Park entrance. The park entrance fee for one vehicle is included for each runner (they will have a list of all entrants). Once in the park, follow the main road for 3 miles and turn right on Shallmo Dr. just past the visitor's center to the Pemberton Trailhead.

Packet Pickup - When you pick up your race packet you will be asked to sign a waiver and appearance release. (We have two film crews that will be at the race this year.) There will also be a quick medical check with Kachina Rescue.

Race Timing - We will be timing the race using AMB transponders. You will receive your chip attached to an ankle strap at check-in (it will be in your race bag). You MUST wear this chip for the duration of the race. Please return your transponder to the timing tent if you drop from the race or after you finish. These chips cost $85 each to be replaced, so don't make us track you down!

Pre-Race Dinner - Each runner will receive one ticket at check-in if they would like to attend the pasta dinner. Additional dinner tickets will be available for purchase ($5 each) for family and friends.

3:30pm - Packet pickup begins
5pm - Pre-race dinner ($5 each for family & friends at the door)
5:30pm - Optional pre-race briefing
6pm - Caballo Blanco Presentation
7pm - Dinner ends

Saturday, October 31st - McDowell Mountain Regional Park
4:15am - Kachina Rescue begins foot taping
4:30am - Packet pickup resumes
5:45am - All runners must be checked in
6am - Race start - make sure to bring a light!
11am - Sub sandwiches arrive at Javelina Jeadquarters
4pm - Pizza arrives at Javelina Jeadquarters
8pm - Burgers are available through the night

Sunday, November 1st - McDowell Mountain Regional Park
9:30am - Six loop cutoff
12pm - 100 mile cutoff, race ends
